    When you clean them it's also a good idea to "dry burn" them. Use the ECF search and search "dry burn vivi nova". There should be a thread on it maybe with a youtube link to show you how to do it. This will help to get rid of the gunk and make your coils last longer.

    I use one as a passthrough. However, I don't use the 650. I use the 900. There seems to be some issues with their 650's. Every one I used shorrted out on me. Not had any issues with the 900's though. You might get better info posting on Volcano's forums.

    I might be reading to much into your statement but... Are you buying complete Vivi Novas? You can just replace the coil heads. Other than that to test juices, like the others said a dripping atty would be the best way to go. Then the ones you like put in tanks.
