    Random DIY mixing and More

In order to get the most recipe suggestions (on ELR); you have to have the "correct" flavor selected for your stash. Many of the concentrates have multiple listings, and if you pick one of the less popular versions, it will severely reduce the number of possible recipes returned. I posted how I...

Nic Base Storage: Freezer vs. Room Temp Experiment

I think you may be mistaken, or thinking of LDPE. In some private correspondence with Kurt; he had indicated that HDPE was second only to PET, for gas impermeability. LDPE has greater gas permeability than HDPE. This sounds like the same bottles that Heartland Vapes uses for their nic...

I realize you and I are in rather different climates; but I have ordered from the south, middle America, and the south west, at all different times of year (and temperatures). And I have never received a flavor concentrate that I could identify as "damaged" (by heat). Smell, appearance, and...

Heat concerns me less for flavors; than it does for nic. As long as they are in glass, PET or HDPE plastic, they should be reasonably protected (minimal gas permeation). LDPE, or rubber bulb eye-dropper tops, not so much. Just let them fully return to room temp before opening the first time. I...

I hope the weather is nice for you. It has been rather nice here in the southwest corner of the state. We have been seeing mid 70s to upper 80s, broken up with days of intermittent rain and mid to lower 50s. Do bring a jacket with you; as the nights remain chilly. :D

Favorite tobacco flavoring discussion - Tobacco flavoring discussion only

Why? As long as you realize the younger mixes may continue to change, and can resist the temptation to tweak or pass final judgement, there is no harm in early sampling. In fact, you may find something you prefer less developed. That was my experience with INW Am4a. I found my personal sweet...

I agree that NorCal shouldn't be an issue. It is the travel time across the plains and desert that I would be more concerned about. :) Always good to see you too, Miss Chelsea! Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time; but I am glad to see you back around the forums. I hope things settle...

Heartland Vapes. It is what I have most recently bought. It is clear, flavorless, and meets all my mixing needs. I also like that it is another smaller family-run US business. And, I find their service and speed, top notch. If you want to try a smaller size first, to see if it is going to work...

Not getting any flavor from my diy juice

You are most welcome.:D I had a lot of wonderful, patient, knowledgeable ECF folks help me along my own DIY journey. I now try to follow in kind.:) If you find any of it helpful; then it has served its purpose, and I am glad to do it. I am pleased to hear you are starting to see more...

Warming up the vg to mix?

I have not personally used one of the nail polish shakers. But, I suspect, that headspace plays an important roll in efficiency. Too little airspace, and it won't mix as well. Also, gently warming a high VG mix (solely to reduce viscosity), could also help. The reason the shakers never held my...

Warming up the vg to mix?

I tend to mix smaller batches. 60mL for a few of my favorites. More only 30mL. And new/tester batches anywhere from 5-15mL. So, a traditional kitchen immersion blend is just too big... and does introduce a lot of air. Small coffee frothers are better for this volume of mixing; but still...

Why... and how... would they restrict batteries? There are hundreds of other applications aside from vape gear. 18650s alone, are used in things as diverse, as power tool battery pack cells, to flashlights. Don't let the Doomsdayers get to ya!;)

Warming up the vg to mix?

That is a fair point. Flavor manufacturers like TFA, FW, and CAP still get the lion's share of their flavor concentrate profits from sales to food and beverage sales. And, "food" applications could well include heat (baking, candy making, etc.). If I am being honest, I have to say; I don't know...

Best VG, PG & NIC online sales?

Nicotine River NR is a good "one stop shop" for all things DIY. They have a lot of satisfied shoppers here on ECF. Heartland Vapes HV is another "one stop shop." There flavor concentrate selection is a bit more limited than NR. But, their nicotine prices are hard to beat. Small, family owned...

Warming up the vg to mix?

CAUTION on the microwave! E-liquid components (PG, VG) get hot FAST in a microwave. Danger of exploding (capped) bottles, boil-overs, meting plastic, and burns are all very real possibilities. Also, the smaller the volume, the faster the liquid will heat. Something like a hot water bath is much...

I can't really think of much that wont go with cheesecake.:D Tropicals come to mind... coconut, passion fruit, mango, papaya, kiwi, acai, and/or guava (though not the real acidic types like FLV), all sound good to me. I am not sure about pineapple or banana though; but maybe as part of a...

Not getting any flavor from my diy juice

Agreed. Recipes, for me, are only a starting point (my creativity for personal creations stinks). I do tend to mix it per the author's directions first; so I can get a reference point, and then tweak to suit myself.
