    Now that is a good point. You do not want to start working with high capacity lipos and have no clue. I have seen folks that did not know what they are doing do some really BAD things over the years with them.

    Most should be ok. I use very fine, thin solder as it is simply the easiest to manage.

    I set the temp based on the solder I am using and it adjusts the wattage as needed, never showing me what it is doing, so I can say.

    It could be a solder joint giving you voltage drop. I would put an 18650 in and see if it improves just to test the rig.
