I've always used more liquid with tanks. When I use stallions I use about 2-2.5 ml a day. With my nova I was using 3-4 ml a day. -

If you have the mini nova a little trick you can do to extend the life of the heads is to carefully slide the wick out until you see the black part where the coils were and cut it out. Be careful to leave enough wick to touch both sides of the tank. Before you put it back on the battery check... -

I've never had a battery have a significant drop in battery life or just died. All my batteries have been dropped or in the case of auto batteries liquid got in them. I would expect your batteries to last at 6 months easily. I've found old 510 batteries that were over a year old that still... -
