I don't think this one will ever leave me as I am obsessed with captain and this is one of the most flavorful builds one ever had. Plus I'm super into bottom feeders now. BTW this was easy to build.
I don't recall the cost of the Weller I used, it's at work and I didn't pay for it (Thank you work), but I believe the model is wp35. But I work as a electronics repair technician on CNC controls/servos etc and that Weller works good enough for me to make clean solder joints day in and day out...
No need for a hakko. I just used a Weller 35watt with a fine tip. As for the switch, you get two options in the kit. No complaints with the options provided.

You could grind down the 510 pin a little bit and that may help. I did that for my derringer (clone) that is on a provari mini, which was necessary to get it semi flush since that's a fixed 510.

there is a kayfun dripper conversion kit out there, comes with steel and clear plastic sections and to cap, not sure if the top call is reduced much at all but I know it works well as I have one
I personally use 28g with 2mm diameter, 10 wraps micro coil (comes out to 1.4-1.6 usually), that is what works best for me and u vape at 15 watts. Works great in my kayfun 4, but never tried that in my 3.1 (really don't use my 3.1 anymore), but I'd imagine it'd give comparable results.

Got everything soldered and board is functional. Sadly I have to wait now as I'm still waiting on the body pieces to finish up (there was a printing error and they had to restart the part...)
