Seems I have an 18500 Uma :thumbs: I've been carrying her around since she arrived and I gotta say, the polished brass clothes feel somehow "softer" than the brushed on my rough-and-tumble CW edition.
I just clean mine with a q-tip and PGA. I'm cautious about using polish on any of the engravings because I like the black (pretty sure it's burnt from the laser) and have seen folks polish it right out of there.

Agreed, if it had juice on the wick - shouldn't glow. I think he was burning hard to try and get the "even glow" since that's what every setup video shows as a benchmark for a good coil. I've built a few different silca/XC116 wicks (no mesh) and never had a vaccum wicking issue, but good catch...
hmm, would probably not use a lighter. You can sort of press dry one of the heads from a Protank using paper towels (sort of pinch lightly and hold so the water absorbs into the paper towel and blow through it. All the other parts can be wiped dry. The wick itself doesn't need to be 100% dry...
Be sure to keep in mind that nic bases don't last forever. I think I read somewhere that VG lasts about ~1.5 years and PG last ~2 years when stored properly in a freezer.
yes, with straight XC116 you'll probably never get the bottom glowing. You really don't need to though, as long as the coils aren't touching each other no problems. The glowing coil on a dry burn is more for trying to locate shorts/hot spots on SS mesh. If you want to try something that works...
