    Well with the current technology, Kanthal is not possible in TC mode. So unless something evolves, low watts will not be possible. Some time ago I bought what I thought was AWG 29 Kanthal. Wound up 8 wraps around ID 2mm thinking I would end up with 1.6ohm. Kept reading 0.1 and I was baffled...

    I have refilled it from the top - screw off the top while holding the bottom of the glass tank firmly down (much like we do with KF Lite) . You can't fill it all that way because the chimney is short but it can be done.
