With tanks you need to let the coil heads soak in your juice for about 10min after installing and giveing them a few primer puffs(w/o powering) doesn't hurt either, otherwise you will singe or burn the cotton and possibly end up with a hot spot.
Try changing your coil head out, letting it soak...
the rubber bands that go around your top cap and lock ring you're referring to are called vape bands, several shops sell them if you plug it into google.
For the time it came out it was regarded as one of the best, you gotta remember that was one of the very first rdas to hit the market along with the igo-w. By todays standards they are very outdated.
I've heard of people using ego chargers to charge them, but i wouldn't for 2 reasons.
1. because its always best to use the specific charger for the mod if applicable
2. it would take forever to charge that thing on an ego charger.
Also, if you do get into rebuilding i believe the cf sub ohm...
Like i said in the earlier post, stay away from oil based flavorings and homemade vg extracts unless you want to spend a fortune in replacement coils or go to rebuilding.
Other than that, its a hit or miss game.
I've currently switched to using only TFA flavorings because they taste the closest...
i have never had max vg juices clog my coils any worse than 50/50, my guess is it's probably the flavoring you're using. You may want to try a different brand.
It's definitely the over flavoring of the juice and yes you're right dark juices will trash a pack of coils heads faster than you can order new coils online.
Generally unflavored juice doesn't do this and barely leaves any build up behind, but you would have to be using some pretty low grade vg...
I'm probably not as diligent as i should be, but i usually give my tube mechs a good couple cycles in my ultra-sonic every other week. My box mods just get wiped down with an alcohol pad every few days when in use, and my atties get cleaned whenever i rebuild them. I usually rebuild once a week...
i would if i could just for the sake of not blowing through premium juice(when i do buy it), but find it hard to vape anything higher than a .25 on a mech or lower than 80w on a regulated device.
If you want to vape at high wattage I'd say the best thing to do is just get used to it, I get spit back on my tongue all the time but that's because I run stupid low builds and use chuff style drip tips on my rdas. Otherwise, just turn your wattage down a bit and it wont happen as often.
Don't forget about diy, its easy, quick and cheaper than any premade juice. I've made a few really good tobacco liquids by doing a vg heat extraction on ryo tobacco and cigars in the past.
you got that backwards, series increases only voltage, parallel increases MAH and also splits the amp load across the batteries (in a perfect world equally). Parallel configuration will also decrease voltage drop a bit, usually .1v per 2x the batteries
I wouldn't use a vamo board, check out @Relayer1974 on youtube. He has a couple pretty good in depth videos about the vamo 40w and 50w boards. I'd probably just turn it into a sweet lookin double barrel mech.
I use about 1/4in strips to wick coils smaller then 3/32 down to 1/16 and about 1/2in strips to wick 3/32 and 1/8 coils. Should help, some times you have to do a bit of shaving but eventually you'll get it down perfect every time.
Right, although i would like to see improvements in the materials we use for wicking. I always seem to have that little bit of juice left in the wicks that will never be vaped because its just slightly too dry near the coil. maybe some carbon nano tube weaved into cotton balls should be in...
lol i eventually get burnt out on my dessert/fruity flavors and vape nothing but savory flavors during those times. Right now my favorite is a 1:1 ratio of walnut and pecan with a few drops of hickory smoke flavoring.
