    i had this issue too, the inner ring on the atty (thread side) is springy. it can get pushed up after long use, and sometimes doesn't contact properly. grab a paperclip, stick in the hole on the thread end of the atty, and sorta wiggle it out a little (don't push it in, but outward) and see if...

    i can't quite screw mine all the way, but very very close now. if it is too tight, it is buckling the switch housing and won't allow the button to depress, so when tightening just make sure th button stays "level" and doesn't bend.

    yes, does seem to be the case, i tried it with the shorter button and the theory is solid, but with the o-ring and shorter button, there isn't enough room for the button to actually depress. with the longer button though it seems this should work just fine.

    i'm glad someone stole my idea. well, mentally i mean, i never posted it ;O i was thinking that the other day when everyone was talking about using floss or whatnot to drop the brass ring, i thought a rubber o-ring would probably work well. at least that's confirmed...now off to try it!
