The polyfill pads can be used or not. I think those came about because they were reading that a lot of us were using PTB with good success, and they wanted to do "something" to enable people to mod their own out of the box. You can cut that poly into smaller squares and place it in-between the...
Oh, so THAT'S what they call you! :p
I can't wait to see COV advertise "bad" CE 2's on their website. At least no one can complain if they get a stinker.
Hey bad!
Big Buyer over in Jersey is looking for a professional PTB mod mad-man:

I nominate you.
I've been messing with these things for over two months and haven't found a better way to fill them than pulling the rings and dripping. A condom-fill from either end just won't work (for different reasons). Hats off to anyone who finds a better way. :)
On the bright side, CE2's last a...
Quick note on using the middle ring flat side down: If you have a "good" carto (ie: the wicks fill up most of the slots) then the middle ring will do a good job of preventing leaks. If your wicks leave a big enough gap at the top of the slots then you'll still get a little leakage if you lay it...
The bottle mod IS pretty bad-......
kwcharlie if you're stuffing the white mouthpiece down against the cup what are you using for a mouthpiece... drip tip?
Come to think of it, I seem to remember you mentioning something about that (or was it badkolo... lol).
I see what you're saying, but I HATE having to use a needle to fill. My way uses less material (and probably wicks a little weaker), but I can still drip fill from the bottle by aiming...
If it were me I'd take a tube cutter to one and see if there's anything in there that shouldn't be. If you don't see anything obvious (like a glob of glue or something), I don't know what to tell you. I've used dozens of these things and never had a taste problem I couldn't get rid of.
All I can tell you is my experience with them. On an initial rinse and dry burn I usually get some white smoke. I dry burn until there is no more smoke, and never see it again. One thing your post didn't mention is how long you're dry burning. The coils on these are pretty robust and you can dry...
I tried something today and it seems to work. It's simple but so far it's working pretty well (sorry if it's been mentioned already):
I opened a new box of XL 510's today and just before throwing away the little poly strips (which is what I usually do with them), I decided to play with them...
