    If I'm understanding this correctly a regulator takes 2 series battries say 7.4v and takes it down to 5v, wasting power in the process. So with that understanding doesn't a switching regulator take series or parallel bats at 3.7v and increase the voltage to 5v? And by the way it's good to see...

    A little confused with Regulators and resistors

    I purchased some led's on ebay. It stated that they were bright. I wired it with a 100Ω resister and it was so bright when I put my thumb over it you could see the light through my thumb. I now either use a higher resistance or just drill a small hole ⅛″ and put the led behind it.
