    Couldn't get the end out of the flangeless Boge's I have. The DCC's I have are smoketech. I probably should have gotten a couple of flangeless Smoketechs with my last order to try. One of the trickier parts here. You can't deform the 510 connection, and I was only willing to pull so hard...

    Thought I'd add Rip Trippers excellent video on how to make a micro coil. I've also had a couple of coils that aggravated the heck out of me because once placed in the head, there is no way to make them work right if they aren't correct, ie glowing from inside out evenly with no hot legs...

    I had poor performance with a 20ga coil. Found the smaller diameter coil kind of sputtered due what I presume is a volcano effect. Worth a try though if your looking for lower ohms, 18ga with 28ga kanthal will likely be better. I too get some cotton taste, but goes away pretty quick for me.

    Trayce, I tamp in 4-5 small pieces of cotton with the same blunt end of the coil needle. 30ga is just stiff enough to get a good micro coil that is less prone to getting deformed and not performing right. I'm sure that some variation in coil size and resistance can be just as good or better...

    I have the coils pretty close to the grommet. At or a tad less than 1/8". I wondered about that too, but since the coil OD is less than the grommet ID, and the top of the grommet save for the metal air passage is protected by saturated cotton, it hasn't been a problem at all. Interestingly...

    Just whipped one up for the lady of the house. EVOD, with one extra wrap for 1.9ohms. Works nicely even on her pretty pink eGo clone. Kicks but on her spinner. I'm getting pretty efficient with some practice under my belt. <15 minutes. She's a carto tank vapor. Or was:D

    I ordered some 28ga last night Jay. Won't work for me on my VV gear as configured, but I've been chatting with Silent Echo and he had a idea to make a conical coil. Had to give it a try.

    Nope. There's not enough resistance wire to make the micro coil with enough wraps. Good news is one of the amazing things about the micro coil technique is reduced hot legs. Even so, with this design, the legs are imbedded in the saturated filler as well, so not only are NR legs not needed...
