Mine got in before I did. Locked and loaded with that tasty Zombie Sweat and is vaping like a dream.
Took most of the day, but I did empty a tank with the wide bore/no stem homemade atty. It was rock solid all day!
Starving, much more to come as time permits.
Yep. They are really good stock heads. Like you, I rip the silica out almost always, but they are indeed well made.
Really is a stroke of luck that these are out there. Otherwise, with the Kanger heads, they would only be of use to coil builders. I don't mind a little brass here and...
Well thanks to Dan, whom without we'd still be eyeballing and filing these things. :)
So now we have really two improved versions to put through the paces. By tomorrow, we three will have both to compare performance with. Not quite the exact version 3 Dan just built, but the bored out...
Yes, like a drip tip would. The intention was to prevent condensation and or juice from accumulating outside the tank. I've never seen any improvement with the newer top screw in that regard.
Depth is 2mm. OD measures 8.2mm. Measured with a rule. Someone needs to mic this to check my...
Houston, we have a problem.
The Billet Box now ships, and has been for a few months now with a redesigned top screw. Instead of mating over the top of the 9mm carto or atty tube, it now also goes inside to seal with an o-ring.
Quick stop over on Doug's site indicates the old version isn't...
Dan, you a are dangerous man with a little SS, and a lathe :D
Like how it just looks with the Chinese stem gone if nothing else. Gives it that high end RBA look.
Ah, yeah I had forgotten about those silica top wicks in the factory heads. That is a concern for people that want to use them out...
Yes. Pretty much. With the obvious advantage of having the option to just drop in a factory head. I've never tried a Diver, but I did scope em out, and never wanted one mainly because they looked to be a PIA to build. The ARO head, like the Mangers are cake.
Exactly.
Good ppint about the manufacturer possibly changing cup size. Never know if it gets sourced to different factory, and dimensions get changed a bit.
Possible. Could just be your wick though. Mine has been stellar all morning.
Real test will be when the tank goes below half full. Vaping my head trying to get there lol.
Man this hobby is evil.
Have the day off to meet with my Mothers doctors, and do income tax, and some long overdue stuff for work. Now it's 11:15 and I'm sitting here surfing ECF lol. Guess I'll get it in gear...in a little while lol.
Popped in an original version that has the stem removed that Drunk sent me. 12 wrap 30ga horizontal micro with cotton build. Removing the stem leaves no place for condensation or juice to pool in the carto tube. Going to vape this tank down and let y'all know if I have as good of success as...
Lol, I like the tape too. Hell, I've beaten my BB up so bad it'd be an improvement:)
I have done this by inserting a small piece of Pyrex capillary tube into the positive past airway and setting it with a tiny dab of JB Weld to restrict draw. Personally, I've come to prefer a looser draw...
Not saying it's needed, but if the airflow could be tweaked at the base, it may help with getting the the right amount of wick saturation. Too, wet...loosen the draw. Dry hits, tighten a bit.
Probably not worth the complication. Just throwing that out there.
Just wanted to reiterate incase anyone missed it earlier. Unlike the Billet Bridge Aspire heads, this "ARO Bridge" uses heads that are easily rebuild able. Nothing quite like a 12 wrap micro coil and cotton wick with your Sunday morning coffee. :2cool:
PM sent Dan. Thought I replied from my phone yesterday, but it didn't get sent since my PM box was full.
Looks perfect. I have no doubt it'll work wonderfully.
