Hmm, the chart I have says 16 guage, 19 or 37 strand at 30c should handle 19 amps. But it seems everyone has a chart/graph or whatnot concerning this and they are all a bit different. Temp, frequency, dc vs ac, it'a headache! I try to err on the side of caution though.

How much though, I already feel there is too much at even 10 amps. It only takes 15 amps to run my CNC machine.

... but what about the fuse? Nobody makes a SMD PTC fuse above about 14 amps that I know of .... wonder if I could stack a pair of 14 on the little circuit boards.... arggg.... I need to decide things and get to work!

Stranded. Solid is a beast to work with in little spaces. Y'know, if I dropped down to 16 guage wire, that would up the current to what, 18 - 20 amps? Hmm, wonder if I could squeeze it in the mod.

Ahoy! Happy Thors-day! I'm sitting here playing with a prototype I just now finished. I added a FET to the Cruiser to enable it to provide up to 13 - 14 amps (the wires might melt at about 15 amps). I used a DNA style switch to activate it. Damn thing took me about 3 hours to wire in. I...

Oh yeah, I've looked at these but didn't think they were bottom feeders even though they said "Chalice" type?

Well, yeah, I can make coils. I've made higher and lower resistance, single and triple strand with various guage wires. Nothing I've made has been as good as these cheap-o premade coils, so I figure, why bother? There might be a basic flaw in my coil building that I'm just not getting, but with...

I've tried, but the coils are so small and tight that I can't get a new wick into it, and at about 10 cents per coil I just decided to pop a new one on instead.

Ahoy Waho! Yeah, I think this is beyond my capability as a glorified hobby mod maker with delusions of grandeur. 12 guage wires? good grief...

On another note, I suck at building coils! For the most part I have been using these for the last couple of years and have had no issues with them. Depending on the power setting on my mod, they can last from a few days up to a week before they get too gunked up to use. $5.75 Replacement...

Ahoy all, happy Tuesday! Not much to update here at RSM, just cruising along in auto mode. I just got in an order from Fastech, I wanted to have a couple spare rebuildable atties that were good for squonking. Besides the trusty A7 which they no longer carry, they have the A7 mini which I...

Ahoy all, just another week here, hope you are all doing fine! Generally I don't do custom orders anymore, but sometimes when a combination is mentioned on the thread I try to remember and include it in the next batch. What did you have in mind? At the moment I have 15 Cruisers in this batch...

Thanks fer the vote of confidence! I'm putting together the next batch right now. It will be mostly Cruiser/Marauder mods, but, there have been some feelings that were expressed about the last couple batches of Cruisers, that they were pretty 'plain', so I am going to bring them to the next...

Ahoy and happy Monday! Ok, caught up on everything RSM, gonna go back to working on the house. I need to hurry up though, I should be working on at least a batch of cruisers by now. I get lots of spam mail from the overseas manufacturers ever since I ordered that lot of A7 atties a few years...

Ahoy all, I suppose I better drop by and make an update for the thread. It's been hotter than hell here with daily thunderstorms as usual, sometimes lasting all day. Makes it tough to plan a schedule when you have to be outside to cut paneling for walls and ceilings and in the middle of things...

Ahoy everyone! Interesting weather around the globe, either your getting flooded out or it's a drought that won't quit. Actually there is no list. I mentioned last week that I was shutting down RSM to do some critical house repairs. They are taking longer than I anticipated but I will make...

Ahoy me 'earties, happy FRIDAY! Another day of rain here with thunderstorms thrown in for added pleasure! Can't run the cnc machine, can't get outside to use the chop saw/tablesaw.... everything is at a standstill, again. People are waiting on repairs and desk caddies and I'm fussing with my...
