Its been used every day for 3 years and 2 months (minus 8 days in Jamaica)
Its been dropped and banged around more than I would like to admit. Its a lot darker than it used to be but really there is not a mark on it. Its been to mountain tops in summer and winter...
I used to throw a carto on it when I went out skiing or winter camping. That way I could go 30 or 40 hits with no squonk if needed.
Now I just try to keep it in an innermost pocket and hope for the best.
Mark I have a question. I like everything about the III except the new coil position I use ceramic wick and like to get the full length in there and I'm quite good at the Z coils after 2 years.
Would all the new upper pieces fit on the older chalice base so I could utilize the airflow...
The metal REOs are mechanical with no wires so the switch (button) need to be at either the top or bottom of the battery. So the button is on the top, the only way it could be on the side is if the battery we're horizontal in the mod.
Wood REOs use wires to the button so it could be placed...

Probably a dumb question but is the back of that plunger recessed in the back of the door ?? Or how else would the door slide off unless the mod is notched slightly ?

Few things I like better in no particular order:
More rounded = more comfy in pockets.
Lighter (at least they seem so in a pocket).
Just as durable IMO if you pick the right wood.
Side button is more ergonomic for me.
Warmer on the hands in the winter...
