    Married batteries

Simply explained: When you're using two batteries together, and the batteries are not exactly matched, the strongest battery will damage the weakest one.

    Ni 200

Try decreasing your temperature a notch. It might be a slightly-dry-but-not-quite dry, or almost-burnt-but-not-quite-burnt hit you're tasting.

    I made a calculator

The Wire Wizard now allows you to use a mixed coil, or a TC coil other than Ni200, on your Ni200 only mod. Set up your build, click the "Ni200 equiv." tab next to the chart on the upper right, and enter a value from one of the "Ni200 equiv." rows into your TC mod.

    Twisted coil help needed

Why can't you duplicate it? What's wrong with the "duplicates"?

Why do I want/need temperature control?

I am vaping a 200W mod right now - at 12.5W. Why? Why not? I am also using a computer capable of rendering and displaying complex 3D scenes in high resolution in real time, while at the same time analyzing pulsar data gathered from gravitational-wave detectors on the other side of the world -...

Why do I want/need temperature control?

Funny, that's what I've been doing lately. Setting it and forgetting it, that is. Still have to top up the tank from time to time, though. And change the wick once a week. I hate that part.

Why do I want/need temperature control?

Alright, I think we can all agree at this point, that VV is a fad for those who don't know how to vape, and factory built mech mods is for those too stupid to buy a flashlight and convert it into a mod. Now where were we?

Why do I want/need temperature control?

TC mods, at least those I have come across, sample the resistance every time you put an atomizer on the mod, and calibrate the voltage accordingly. Much like VW mods, only it needs to be more accurate in order to perform TC. It is a well known fact, at least among those who dabble in TC, that...

Why do I want/need temperature control?

The mere thought of it almost makes me want to cancel my Internet subscription.

Why do I want/need temperature control?

To clarify: The stress on the battery is the same at 10W with a 0.15 Ohm Nickel coil, as it is at 10W with a 1.5 Ohm Kanthal coil. (Disregarding boost features and temp throttling.)

Why do I want/need temperature control?

The low ohms is not a problem in itself, as long as the regulator can handle it. (And if the regulator is made for TC, it should be able to handle it.) The main problem with nickel IMO, is that it is soft, which makes building coils and changing wicks more challenging than it could be. But there...

Why do I want/need temperature control?

I don't need it, I just like it. As I said earlier, I went from using TC for months, to using Kanthal for months, and back to using TC. Both work fine. But a few of the reasons why I use TC right now, are that the boost gives me a fast ramp-up, the wick lasts longer for some reason (I'm lazy at...

Why do I want/need temperature control?

I don't understand the question. I want to vape at 10W, I don't need to vape at 10W. Actually I think I may not need to vape at all at this point, but I still do it because I still want to. Yes, the boost is much higher, and the TC sometimes even limits the power to less than 10W, but with this...

Why do I want/need temperature control?

I've been vaping with TC at 10W. The ohms are necessarily lower because the metal in the coil is different, with a lower resistivity, but the mod compensates for that by decreasing the voltage. The resistance can't be tasted anyway, it's just a number.

Why do I want/need temperature control?

I used TC exclusively for a few months. Then I went back to Kanthal for a few months. Now I'm back on TC again. In a few months, maybe I'll be back on Kanthal, who knows? In any case, having options is a good thing.

    5 hits per drip, normal?

Yes, a single coil would allow you to vape longer between drips.

    I made a calculator

The Wire Wizard has had another overhaul or two, and can now be found in the menu.

    My 2.5 is haunted...?

Chain vaping? If you take too many short puffs quickly, the Provari thinks you pressed 5 times to get into the menu. Then there's one more press for Voltage Up, and any subsequent presses will increase the voltage by 0.1 V. Used to happen to my SO all the time, until she learnt to not do that.

    Vaping without batteries

I guess most people want portability, and a battery pack is not more expensive than a PSU. I must admit I've been looking around for a good PSU to hook up to a regulated board just for kicks, but so far I haven't found anything with a price I like, that ships to Norway.
