    A pin questions

Yes, "810" is a drip-tip ("mouthpiece") size with a wider bore. There's also "goon-style" which is 810-sized, but without an o-ring (there's still an o-ring, but it's in the cap instead of on the mouthpiece.) Most tanks and atomizers that need an 810 or goon-style drip tip, come with one already.

    Geekvape Aegis Legend [Deleted]

The update says TC performance has been improved, but it's still hitting "weak" for me. It no longer "holds" at 40w, but it still starts low, and climbs very slowly. 25 watts...35...40...45...50...55...60...65...by this time I've finished with my hit, and it never did get up to the 80w it was...

    Geekvape Aegis Legend [Deleted]

It usually isn't. Did you hold down the "plus" (not fire) button while attaching the cord? Took out the batteries first? Heard the "ba-donk" sound when it plugged in? Released the button once you heard "ba-donk"? Check that other devices work with that cord/port? (Edit: downloaded the...

Vape is burning after replacing battery

Some mods are “boost/buck” converters, meaning they can adjust the voltage either up or down from the battery’s charge state. Some, however, don’t have the “buck” part and can’t lower the voltage, only raise it. With high resistance and low wattage, this can cause them to hit a bit “hard” on a...

Need Help with iStick Pico 75w

So you’ve read the part where he’s trying to use it as a pass-through device without a battery in? And how the device doesn’t work like that, and you have to have a battery in the whole time, even when it’s plugged in via USB? Great, you should be all sorted out, then!

    Modding the AL85?

There is no firmware upgrade nor custom firmware available for the AL85. The Alien 220W has firmware upgrades, and Arctic Fox (custom firmware) can run on many Joyetech, Eleaf, and Wismec devices, but it doesn't work on SMOK products.

Sigelei Kaos watt / volt runaway

This thread mentions the preheat wattage, might you have accidentally turned that up and that's what's causing the issue? I'm not familiar with that particular device; some devices have "buck/boost" converters where they can ramp the voltage up or down, while others only have the "boost"...

    Well **** me, right?

Yeah, this one’s on me, I’m afraid. What I really need, is dedicated vape pliers that I can keep with my build kit. And now I guess I need a new teeezers, too.

    Well **** me, right?

(I was using them to pull a wire straight, because I didn’t want to go downstairs for my second set of pliers) :-S

So how’s your day going? You don’t really need ceramic tweezers anyway, right?

10 pcs Free XTAR PB2 Charger for You

No, it is not a stand-alone power bank, but if you're just going to use it as one, then with a max of 2A output you could put some pretty high-capacity 18650's in there and have like 7000mAh in your pocket. All my cells are high-drain 20A+ for vaping so I only have like 4000mAh capacity when I...

10 pcs Free XTAR PB2 Charger for You

Aside from this part where it's not charging up the batteries, it sounds like normal operation. Are you able to charge these same cells in a different device?

10 pcs Free XTAR PB2 Charger for You

It sounds like you're trying to use it as a portable power bank, without any batteries in? That's not how it works. The 18650 batteries you insert are the only power source, it doesn't have a built-in battery. You put batteries in it, you plug it in, it charges the battery (right-most digit...

How much does continuous discharge hurt batteries?

Oh I missed that it was an 18350. Yeah those have lower discharge rates, for sure. @Mooch rated that one at 10A, so 2.5-ish for a couple of minutes is still well within spec:

How much does continuous discharge hurt batteries?

What battery were you using? Most of the cells we recommend around here have a CDR of 20 amps or above. [Edit: I missed it was an 18350. OP's cell is rated at 10A CDR.] CDR stands for "Continuous Discharge Rating." Take special note of that first word, "continuous." At 1.7 ohms, even on a...
