Another update... on this little rba/carto thingy..
I started with ce3 that looks like this.
Then I did this. Cut the bottom plastic tube to pull out the base....
Do the same thing to a carto... I like boge.the metal tube seems stiffer than a smoktech.
Make another slash opposite if...
Thanks Dan.
The cup is ceramic., I really did not think about the cut other than where the wicks location was. I was trying to keep the wick internal behind the slots.
I was really trying for a "one size fits all" where there is no real need for metering other than maybe a rotation of the...
Take a look here.....
First off thanks to Dan and Vapian for inspiring me... as well as the diver!
But most of all DD for the box without it I wouldnt even have cared and still pulling my hair out with genesis attys.
I've put together a pretty quick and simple rba using a old carto tube and...
I find those green tips that come with kayfun stuff seem to hold up a tad better.. which I also purchssed from the above Amazon link..
Art class Update: crayon hangs on..lol

Just a thought but maybe fill a little slower... I have had this type of thing if I fill too fast. No problems if tge carto is good and I fill nice and easy.. its a pressure thing sometimes...plus I do fill to the brim everyday.
This is with boges but with smoktech is a whole other story...
I found that every tank I have needed the bolts on the face tightened just a bit.. its a feel thing but make for sure you have the correct size allen wrench when doing this.. those little guys will strip in one slip.. plus use caution to not over tighten as the plastic material will give way..
I...
Toothpick makes it easy work... the go to bb tool. Lol.
While I was there I figured let's do the door too.
I can tell it's probably not going to last long.. but easy none the less..

Yep crayola... i just grabbed into the bag and Green it was.. lol. There is some technique to it otherwise it'll just push out.. i found wiping with my finger was the best to get the excess off.
Grab a black one and give it a shot..

Hidy ho neighbors.... Great to see the progress DD!.
Decided to do a little spring cleaning on the bb.. got all the pealing black off and replaced it with some green..
Not sure if the pics are good enough. As my phone just isn't taking good pictures these days....
Believe it or not this is...
The carto gets sandwiched by the brass ring which secures the tank at the same time. There is a recess of about a mm or so in the brass ring but it's a stop for the carto... hope it helps.
I don't need to test just put me on the list of I want.. lol

Finding the doner would be the trick... and then you would have the real thing to just fix up. ;)
Although this bass was much nicer than its doner, and sounded better too. I don't think I could top rb.
Thought about it for sure a couple times...

since it also seems a lot of guitar peoples on this here thread... here is a bass I glued together when I was bored and thought.....I can build one of them....
it would have sure been nice to try and inlay something somewhere... lol way past my skill set though. ill dig up completed pic soon...
I am a 99% sure your tracks are dirty.. and maybe the ball has some build up from the aluminum..
If you follow my directions and really dig into the tracks with alcohol. Then lube it'll be like butter again.
I had these same problems after about 2 weeks with both my boxes. After this...
Just what I have found that works for me....
Clean the tracks and the ball with a qtip and alcohol. The ball is steel and the door is aluminum. . The ball is not wore but collecting aluminum at worst.. which makes it rough. Worst case I had to buff the ball lightly with some 400 grit or use a...
