If we are talking totally hypothetical design then using the shape of the box mod that you have drawn (a bit like the VTR), I would like to see a pump fed RDA rather than having to manually do it all the time. My theory would be to have the pump kick in after you have released the firing button... -

This one is 7 wraps around a 2mm diameter screwdriver. I can get roughly a full day from a battery charge (goes down to about 3.6 or 3.7V). I use my Magma clone with a single coil and find it fantastic. It has an airflow ring which means that you can close off the unused airhole (as it can be used dual coil). I do see a lot of people on this forum that also use it in single coil mode, so we are not alone in the quest for a nice...- DoubleEwe

Throat burn/ache when using RDA/Dual coil rebuildables
It may just be too hot for you, you could try adding an extra wrap to your coils to give you a slightly cooler vape.
