Distilled water would work, pretty much any aluminum mod the uses a pressed in steel connector could get the same deposits, the roughstack I used to have did. basically the best solution is to use a qtip and isopropyl, pga or vodka and wipe around the connector, I mentioned coca cola earlier but... -

I'm not trying to be an expert on this, just going by what I've seen, but usually it is the minerals in water that causes it and all tap water has minerals which vary from one city to the next (ever notice how water taste different everywhere you go?) -

The crystalline substance your refering to is corrosion caused by dissimilar metals coming in contact with water (in this case its aluminum and steel, or some other base metal) I'm an auto mechanic and see this very often since car makers are using a lot of aluminum held with steel bolts. -

Never tried a bottom feeder.
Thank you everyone, after stalking the mail person (she finally showed up around 8pm:blink:) I now have my green and black Reo Mini, and I love it it took all of 5 minutes to get squanking down my poor icon is already looking lonely -

Trustfire flames work just fine on the v1 just by removing washers out from under the contact, and that's why the washers are there, because not all batteries are created equal.- Dj Xy

Thank you everyone, I can't wait for my Reo to arrive I seem to be all set, got plenty of imr 14500s, plenty driptips, and 4 LR 510 atties should be waiting for me in the mail box, got a feeling my tanks are now obsolete (still gonna drip at work don't want the Reo getting trashed) -
