Depends on if this is to quit smoking, and how heavy a smoker you are, but here are a couple of cheaper, easier starters.
Just get something like an Evod blister kit for a cheap way to test it out.
EVOD 650mAh Variable Voltage Blister Pack Starter Kit
For a little better, an AIO.
Ego Aio...
I like to know that I can rebuild if necessary (peace of mind) but would rather not. I do use a lot of Kayfuns, but everything else has the option of rba head or premade. I have drippers, but they mostly gather dust.
Eleaf mini istick also know as Eleaf istick 10w.
Only does variable voltage. I use one at night bedside because the top display makes a nice little flashlight when I get up to wander around the house every couple of hours (yes, I'm an old guy).
You can figure out the wattage by 2Xvolts/ohms
What tanks did you use before? If you still have them, you might be able to use them on the pico. It is just a device after all.
I'm a toodle puffer (which means I like my vaping to be similar to smoking). On just about every tank I have I need to 1.) turn the wattage down on the device to like...
I've never used the Melo tank, but it is likely very different than whatever you used on the ego/vamo devices. I've been vaping for nearly 5 years, but there are tanks that are too harsh and make me cough. Just have to find what is right for you.
You say "when you vaped last time". Is it possible you had a different device...like a more mouth to lung device...ego or similar. But now you have a more open subohm device. Could make a huge difference.
It's not the wild west days of vaping any more. No new items. Everyone has pretty much settled in with what they have. Not much new with local legislation either. Weirdly quiet out there.
I was a 40 year very heavy smoker. My problems started at about 2 months as my sense of smell (and taste) returned. BTW, the world doesn't smell like I remember from 1970. Who caused that?
I was at war with my taste buds for probably 6 months. Sometimes couldn't taste, sometimes everything...
I was a 42 year smoker and was up to over 3 packs per day. I was actively trying to cut down with will power and lozenges. One day I had a pop up adv on my computer about e-cigs (can't remember the brand). So I started researching and ended up here on ECF.
Ordered my first starter kit that...
For liquid, I found the closest to a cigarette is unflavored (especially at higher nic levels). Unflavored is also incredibly cheap. A liter of 100mg nicotine ($50), a gallon of PG ($25), and a gallon of VG ($50). That will last at least a couple of years.
Just simplicity. I started building on Kayfuns and igo-L and have stuck with that type. I've tried some dual coil builds, but most of those devices are STL types that just don't fit my style.
I also still rebuild Protanks coils and Joyetech CLR coils and those are single coil devices.
I've seen that one. Trust me, my wife is facinated by these things. Her friend just purchased a caravan (we call them trailers or RVs) and we get a tour of somewhere new about every weekend.
