Try the CLR 1.0 ohm. The R stands for rebuildable. However, I use them mostly just like pre-made coils. (I rebuild a few, but they are pretty cheap).
IMO the CLR coils are the best. Oh, and to answer your question, the black is kanthal in both the CL and the CLR. I have not seen SS ones.
My full day out-and-about device is a tesla stealth (2200 mAh) and a 4 mil tank (kayfun or tron). My backup is in a small zipper case (efest-made for 3 batteries), a small ego one setup with a 5 mil bottle of juice. Small screw driver on my keychain if needed. As a toodle puffer, this will last...
Higher VG will likely gunk up coils a bit faster than higher PG juices. VG is a bit sweeter than PG and it's the sugars that gunk coils the most. However, VG by itself doesn't really gunk a lot...just a little bit more than PG. Certainly, sweeter juices will gunk the most.
VG produces more...
They make a rebuildable head for the AIO (cubis).
This one is sold out, but they do exist:
Joyetech Cubis Aio BF RBA - Joyetech Coils - Joyetech - Tanks & Coils
As for the pre-made, you can run a q-tip in there to try and clean it a little, but most pre-made with cotton coils aren't really...
If you like the AIO, it uses an internal cubis tank. You could get a joyetech cubis tank for the Micro One. The newer pro version of the cubis is better.
If you are concerned about the amount of e-liquid you are using (11 mil per day is still OK), you can try using a 1.0 ohm coil on the AIO and...
You will need one with a hole in the center pin to allow bottom feeding. I'm a newbie when it comes to squonking...my first one (pico squeeze) arrives tomorrow. I ordered a velocity mini to use on mine...but have no idea how it will work out.
That istick basic (if it's what I'm thinking of) will accommodate a variety of 14mm tanks. I actually like the gs air that comes with it, but evods, protank II minis, most older CE types, will work.
After 40 years of marriage, I have learned that appliances are not presents. My wife considers her mods to be appliances. Maybe throw in some jewelry as well.
I don't notice much difference between the .5 and .6 ohm. the .5 is probably a bit looser draw, but you can vary that with the airflow adjustment. I use the 1.0 ohm coils to get more battery life and stretch the liquid usage. I have even used the 1.5 clapton coils, but they are a bit too weak...
Go to walmart or cvs and find glycerine...something like this:
Will cost less than $4. Add about 2/3 of yours to 1/3 of the gycerine. If it is too thick add just a drop or 2 of distilled water and shake well.
This will lower your 12mg to 8 mg but will also dilute the flavor. I had problems...
Lots of good advice here.
Mine as an older foggy myself:
#1. Keep it simple. ego AIO or T-18 with spare coils.
#2. Juice is the important part. Going to need a variety.
#3. Don't buy something that will blow the elderly person's head off. A big subohm tank with clouds is not the best option.
I have used the .5, .6, 1.0 and 1.5(clapton). I honestly don't think there is much different in airflow between any of them. The lower .5 and .6 use significantly more liquid and battery life.
I prefer the .6 for flavor but mostly use the 1.0 just because of battery life.
Curious. How would...
