    Wrap the wire that goes on the ceramic channel in the nut and the wire that runs on the metal channel you just cut it even or shorter but cover it wich the wick, maybe that is the problem.

    I broke 2 ceramics that way (ody and penelope) seems that if you drop the base with rebuildable screw its 90% your ceramic is doom :p but ive drop the both attys with tanks covers etc and when i take it apart to clean wick the ceramic is fine.

    If you dont like the feel of hot steel in your lips i recommend a plastic dt but not a cheap one try to find a delrin one or the ones they sell, the ava will generate more heat than other attys due to the wick wich is ceramic so it will take more power to vaporize liquid.
