Ah I don't have one of those either lol :) Originally tried rebuilding on the very first subtanks but after I started preferring building my own coils I moved to using mainly RDAs and occasionally RTAs so not particularly familiar with the newer generations of tanks which also have RBA sections.
Not got one of those myself, have built subtank mini plenty in the past and it looks very similar in the pictures. A lot easier than some anyway :) first attempt always seems hard though.
By "coil ID" he is referring to the inner diameter of the coil. Beyond the things already suggested the only thing that comes to mind is coil positioning relative to the airflow and how the air is flowing over/around it is quite a big part on flavour.

If you are looking to build coils it isn't really that hard but it will probably take a few attempts to get the hang of it. You can always get something like a coil master...
