You guys are going thru some tanks...lol I always grab the top Oring area and keep my fingers there to keep the tank centered , as I twist and pull gently. I also use my free hand to guide the bottom when it comes off the lower Oring. Usaully when it comes off the lower one it will shoot up...- vabeach454

I dont recommend either... You know were the wick is when you put on the top cap my friend. :) Or put the tank cover on after you line it up. :)- vabeach454
