Got home super late and guess I missed all the fun.
Congrats to all the new FP owners!
Ob, wow that is one nice collection.
EZ, you make me want the new atty bad. Hope you enjoying it!
Nice review JC!
Hey Keegan! Been awhile!
Hey all and good night!
Have fun Ob! I miss the days when I had no idea what my preferred setup was.
If all fails and you're okay at your wattage, try making a better wick before upping resistance.
Recommend a wick in wick or fatty wick (3+ inches of mesh).
Upping resistance might solve your burnt taste issue but...
Old picture from when I was still playing with 32g.
If you need a better pic, I'll snap one later this week with 30g or twisted.
I like how it evens out the vape. I always offset when using my delicate juices.
I would say 5/6 but it really depends how fat your wick is. I always let the meter be the final judge. If the meter says its too low, I just start over.
I usually find 1-2 wrap to be the approximate difference (for my coil/wicks), so if you were doing a 3/4 wrap 30g, I would say 5/6 28g but...
If its a fresh setup, I would give it more time to see if the flavor settles.
Oh I get that too sometimes with fruit flavors.
Have you tried making a fatter wick (or are you already maxed out)?
Another suggestion is to go down in gauge but add extra wraps and make sure the ohmage is similar...
Oh be careful if you're twisting the 30g. The ohmage can get pretty low with that easily.
What kind of vape are you looking for? Hotter/cooler? I'm guessing cooler since you're adding a wrap.
No problem, Ob!
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Just remember to twist the wires tight (but not to the point it breaks). Had a few funky twisted coils due to bad twisting.
Have you tried 30g yet? If you're twisting 32g, they'll meter out almost the same.
Hey Ob!
Think everybody has their own preference.
If you want a more pipe vape (but still stronger than regular 32g) I suggest 30g at 4/5 wrap.
For a more cig like draw, 3/4 or start playing around with 28g. As long as you meter everything and know your batteries limitations you should be...
Touch the leads together on your MM. If it reads 1 ohmmage subtract that for all future readings.
1 ohm coils aren't bad, sub 1 ohm coils you need to start keeping an eye on them.
Meter your ohmmage and get your amp draw. Than check your batteries amp ratings.
Unit getting warm after a few pulls doesn't sound normal. Atty warming up is normal.
Be careful, I don't want to hear any horror stories (especially in NY).
If you're a rookie, I really don't suggest twisted...
Careful with twisted 28g, the amp draw gets pretty high.
Make sure you match your batteries to the amp draw + some safety margin.
Edit: Most people should listen to Nancy below and not twist 28g. If you can't meter your ohmage and calculate amp draw, don't.
