    MWA if all you want is to control how hard you suck,, then I believe there could be a simple design as you have suggested. but if you want it to cause the function of the atty to perform differently per adjustment then bottom is the way to go... maybe something like a sleeve for the atty...

    Are you/would you agree that in the GG though the adjustable draw is at the 'top' airflow is still going through the bottom of the atty?

    I believe if you have your draw adjusted at the tip.. that means the air hole (which is being adjusted) is at the top of the atty.. soo when you suck you will be sucking air to high above the heating part that makes the vapor... meaning you will be just sucking air (light/easy draw adjustment)...

    a resister or chip would be needed if you wanted 5v because combining Li-ion batteries (which 99% ecigs are) you will only get the out come of 7.4v fully charged. it can and (sort of) has been done (as an add on).... resistor as well as a chip can fit in the tube of that diameter.. i will leave...

    If it takes an 18650 you should be able to stack CR 123 you will definitely have to make sure you apply ample amount of juice to keep the atty wet, and definitely don't use LR atties. I haven't tried the Reo Grand, but have had a few 18650 mods. LGD

    well LR's need to be wet.. and they tend to go through juice like crazy... you really can't use filled carts and should direct drip for the true LR experience.. not sure if that is your exact issue , but it is for most first time LR users
