    I have used 14500's with no problems in the past, Tenergy was the only option talked about during that time... As long as it's protected,, you should have nothing to worry about.. Now, just in case they make Lithium(different than LI-ion) 14500 non rechargeable batteries like some CR123s...

    your center post of your atties might not be touching the center part of the battery.. you can gently pull out the center post of the atty (the side that connects to the battery) just a little bit to see if that helps. LGD

    I would suggest looking into the BE112 if you are interested in a penstyle since IMO they don't leak as much as the traditional 801's. I am not sure who is still selling them though, so you will have to search around the forum. ALSO, most will have only the BE112 atties, so getting an 801...

    There doesn't seem to be other options other than trying LR atties with the 14500, but that combination will shorten the vape time between charges compared to standard atties. LGD
