FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions About Electronic Cigarettes

You should find the sweet spot somewhere between 20-24mg. And vape as often as you like, or need to. There's no rules. As far as flavor, that is very subjective. But most people start out wanting something that tastes as close as possible to what they smoked, but soon change their mind about...

    ? about ti voltage regulator

All the UCC383-5 that are available from TI have that T in the model number, so I wouldn't worry about it. The specs are exactly the same for all of them. It's fine to use

    Madvapes 5v regulators rock

You're right, you can't really see it. There's a short length of wire that runs under the connector, and is soldered to the back of each battery contact. If you enlarge the thumbnail, and then click it 2 more times to enlarge it all the way, (that's just the way imageshack does it). Anyway, you...

    Madvapes 5v regulators rock

Stomp - If you look at the top of the box where the atty goes, you'll see 2 slots that the back cover slide into. Because of the placement of those slots, it was more practical to put the atty and wiring in the center position.

    Madvapes 5v regulators rock

Here's those pictures. I have to say, I'm lovin this switch. One really nice thing I noticed about this regulator, is it runs very cool. I did a 7 second burn (with atty attached), and it was barely warm. Then I did the same thing with a TI 383 regulator, and at 7 seconds, it got real hot. I...

    Recommended MosFet for 5v mods

No need to use a mosfet anymore if you want a micro switch in a 5v box. Found a much easier way without having to use a regulator, along with a separate mosfet. MadVapes has a 5v regulator with a control pin that is absolutely freaking perfect. Great specs for ecig use. I'm vaping on one I built...

    Madvapes 5v regulators rock

Been wanting to put together a 5volt 3x AAA box using a micro-switch, but didn't want the hassle of trying to stuff a mosfet, along with the 5v regulator into that tiny space. I've tried about 7 or 8 different styles of switches, but it's a royal pain in the .... trying to find a small switch...

Problems with the 510 in cold conditions...

I don't know if extreme cold would effect the cart fitting snug, but it's certainly plausible. I do know that after using a pv for a while, if some juice gets into the cart (which is pretty unavoidable), it can act like a lubricant, causing the cart to slide out really easily. Here's a link on...

    5v box mod question

Someone earlier said the TI regulators need a min of 7.5v, but that's not right. The TI UCC383 has a min Vin of 5.45v.

    5v box mod question

Forget about the 7805, and don't even mess with it. It doesn't have good specs for an e-cig anyway. Since you now have the TI regulators, use it instead. Works much better then the 7805. And yes, you're much better off with two 3.7v batteries instead of two 3v batteries.

    Discussing the NicoStick

Hopefully you have some dead atty's laying around. You can pull out the center post from a dead atty, and use the silicon gasket from it. Just work the center post out with a paperclip, as far as you can. The attached wires will keep it from coming all the way out. Then grab it firmly with...

So, how did you see the light?

YUP - You gotta love ISO Hunt, That's the place I frequently saw the Blu ad, and eventually clicked on it also. Actually that ad seems to be all over the internet. Blitz marketing has worked extremely well for Blu, even though their product is pretty weak. I also came close to buying one, but...

Resistors for 6v down to 5v

.5 amp switch using the control pin is fine. Check out the tiny tactile switches he also sells, which are perfect as the switch. The resistor (I think) was 470 ohms, check the schematic. With out the control pin, there's still that 1.5 to 2 amps going thru the switch. So I'd say no to the .5...

    High efficiency 5V converter

How much smaller then the TI 4050c boost converter, would that actually be? Or about the same size? (the 4050c is 22x13mm)

Resistors for 6v down to 5v

I don't want to pop anyone's bubble, but a radio shack 7805 will absolutely not put out 5 volts with an atty attached, since they're only 1 amp max output. An e-cig at 5 volts will draw between 1.5 and 2 amps, and sometimes even a little more then 2 amps. Mad Vapes has some great regulators...

Review Of The New Improved 902 Atty

Do you want to use the stock 902 & PCC when you leave the house, because you're worried about the 5v batteries dying? Because the first 5v mod I built for the 902, uses two 14500 Li Ion batteries (AA size), and lasts for 10-12 hours between charges. As for a 5v stock battery, I'm not Tony, but...

The difference between MyFreedomSmokes and Wordup or DIYFlavorshack

Thank you for the PM jeff. It was umm, well, let me just say this. This is a public forum. People say all kinds of things. None of it really means anything. It's more of a fantasy world, then it is reality. People make claims, and say things which shouldn't be taken at face value, but sometimes...
