    Me too, this thing has loads of potential. I have tried and tried to pinpoint the reasons for the muted flavor etc. and I cant make mine do much. Kudos to the Chinese for finding a solution......I hope.

    I'm not for/or against cutting the wicks but its been said that the juice is "heavy" and tends to stay towards the bottom of the wicks. If you cut them the juice has less distance to travel to the coil. Of course you would need to "re-charge" the tank more by turning it around in the air.

    I have also heard of others now having trouble with the Boge brand as well. Whole other thread going on those. I dont believe the two brands are made by the same manufacture but I could be wrong. Its possible that both manufactures buy their materials from the same supplier? Either way...

    I used the bottom seal from an 808 carto as I dont even have 808 devices anymore. Ive not tore apart any of the Boge cartos yet cuz the wife keeps chuggin on it.........

    Mine has the color on the threads as well. Has not affected the operation on mine but I suppose you could use steel wool on the threads and remove it if you wanted.

    WindLvr, You should be able to tell if there are any shorted by seeing if all your coils glow evenly upon firing it dry. If any on the side do not light up, or it gets BRIGHT red in one spot, its prob shorted. Just take a needle or something and move the coils away from each other a little...
