Yes, the stainless parts get washed in dish soap. Being steel, they dont absorb anything, and the dish soap cuts the machining oils off them. Rinse well, and they are perfect. No more oily residue. The ceramic only gets heated for a few seconds (10 or less) in a flame to fume off any residue...- R53_Dave
