For $150 I'm not sure it's worth my money. I tend to change out my atomizers/cartos quicker than most. 3 weeks on an atomizer, 5 days for a carto.
5 days carto 365/5=73 cartos per year.
$1.49 (super shorty carto from avid vapor)
$1.49*73 = $108.77
3 Week Atomizer
365/21(days) = 17...
Thanks a lot for the replies. I'm definitely going to increase my steep time and try starting off at 20% for a batch or two and see where that leaves me.
I've been DIY'ing for a few months with moderate success. I've been mixing Lorann's fruit flavors at 12% or so and it tastes fine in an atomizer but it's too faint in a carto. I hate to mix more in because I don't want to hit #8 in hoosier's flavor chart...which I've done before. :)

Dry burning usually isn't recommended but lots of people do it. I've never had an ego-c but from the little bit I know about the device it sounds like you're on the right track. Maybe someone who has had one before can chime in.
What's the plunger for?
Nope, I don't think it will jeopardize the outcome. You'll get a feel of your likes and dislikes over the course of this journey and know if you need to make changes or not.
I've never had a problem with any pv while driving. Just be comfortable with the device before you drive and vape.

Just my 2 cents if you consider spending more money than what you would typically put into say an ego kit:
Consider your needs and form factor. Several of the mods that people have listed here are probably fantastic. Darwin (this device is likely the bees knees if you like to drip.) Dripping...
I stopped in today since I just found out they're about 1.5 hour drive away from my house. Very cool place. I was in there for about 20 minutes or so while I got set up with a SB, Tank, and got some questions answered and some chit-chat. Several customers in and out. Although it's a drive for...
I dont know if I consider it a hobby for myself. I lurk the forums a good bit just to see what other people are using and to kinda be part of the vaping community since I know no other vapers. I'm pretty set on what I like though and rarely change.
I search a few different ways here. In the box, sometimes it helps to ask it to display by posts and not threads. Another thing I do is in the advanced search option, I limit the time frame for search results.
My Vape path so far:
Joye 510 - used for about 3 months. extra batteries and a pcc were the key to this working as long as it did.
Ego - loved the extra battery life.
I don't even think the new styles of cartos were out yet and I was constantly topping off cartridges/ptb mod.
I hated...
