...Or to call someone who knows that, so I called Enerdan today again (hope they don´t get disturbed too much).
Their main technician person told me, that as far as he knows PTC can built in only into batteries with up to 9A-10A CDR...but he told me that this knowledge refers to 2017.
...But he...
Found this one on LG ICR18650 B4 2600mAh:
I am not 100% sure, but think that in this part LG does refer to the PTC in the battery.
HE4: http://www.batteryspace.com/prod-specs/10679.pdf (no PTC)
MG1: http://www.plsbattery.com/datasheets/LG-INR18650-MG1-2850mah-10A-18650-High-Drain-Battery.pdf...
I agree with you and I think that finally we have the same in mind.
Just one thing to PTC - HG2 does not have a PTC according to LG technical specifications:
I see that a little bit different. The "Crown" of the battery is the only Plus part of the battery and all the rest of the surface is Minus. In case the Plus side ("Crown") dents too much in can touch the Minus part below. In that case we get a short-circuit.
Frankly speaking, when I see the 2...
I have another example...think about you and your girl-friend.
She wants every week a gift that cost the same (lets say 100 USD).
You work for that and all of a sudden your ...-hole boss reduce your loan per Hour.
Now you will have to work longer to be able to buy her the gift she is used to get...
Actually the capacity is less interesting, more interesting is the amount of Energy in Wh (Watt-Hour) in the battery. The Energy you calculate as a multiplication of Capacity x Voltage and is actually the surface below the discharge curve.
If a battery A has higher Voltage with the same capacity...
Your Mod is regulated and takes the nominal voltage of the LI-Ion battery and convert it to 5V (Step-Up-converter, or Boost-Converter).
Similar happens also in a Power Bank device that charge mobile phones.
The Mountain Prophet, our German Mooch :D just tested 2 new 21700 batteries from Enercig:
2 neue 21700 von EnerCig - Mountainprophet
The first one seems to be a 20700 battery that has been wrapped twice, in order to make it thicker.
The second 21700 battery looks very alike to the 30T, however...
I think it is a great and fair idea. So far Mooch was depended on Vendors who sent him batteries. If the community wishes to have sustainability on Tests, means that mooch will be able to test batteries from the same brand over the time, he needs money for that.
I don´t think Mooch is aiming to...
Hi Mooch - I meant, that Enerdan told me they can not get the specification from Murata and that can be the reason for that?!
Btw...can you check the Diameter of the VTC5D? According to the VTC5 is 18.20 mm Diameter, the VTC5A is said to have 18.35 mm
I wish, if they had...according to them (Enerdan), if a customer like Dyson, or Tesla, or Bosch would ask the manufacturer to modify an existing battery, the manufacturer and customer sign a contract (forgot the name) to keep this information classified.
Baditude -
Thanks for the List...
I am a bit confused, because usually if you modify a battery in order to get higher discharge current, the capacity goes down?! And the guys from Enerdan spoke about something like 2500 mAh...
