510 cartridge tips for the beginner

Crap... I thought #1 was working -but- just took a nice hit of burnt polyfill, again.... There has to be a better way... ARG Well.. I should say, it's working much better after cutting down that polyfill, just still not perfect. I used to get a nasty hit of polyfill after just a few hits...

Nifty site I found to get cheap misc parts and batteries

Plan on slow delivery and questionable product quality. I would not suggest parting with hard earned money for cheap X-fire brand cells unless you do some research to figure out which ones actually have a decent track record of consistency and performance. Some are reasonable, many are pure...

MDs 510 cartomizer filling tips/tricks for condom method.

When using the condom trick, I've found that the best way to get the fluid to absorb out into the poly-fill completely with less mess is to do as follows: 1. Fill condom with appropriate amount of fluid. I don't have much luck past ~15-16 drops, but some people may have the patience to get more...

    Almost crying.

I agree with the points made on alcohol. I can make it through the day fine on 6mg VG/PG mix stuff, but once I'm on that 3rd or 4th beer I have to switch to 16mg straight VG to keep the cravings at bay.

Can I use my 808 Carto's with an eGo?

As I understand, the 901 and 808 share the same threads (correct me if I'm wrong on this), so any 901 OR 808 adapter should work. They are sold at many places. Altsmoke is one place to check out.

    Almost crying.

For your laundry, I highly recommend picking up some Arm & Hammer + oxyclean detergent: This is the stuff my Wife and I have been using for over a year. I was a smoker and she was not, and this is the only detergent we found that is reasonably priced as does a very respectable job of removing...

    Chargin eGoXL on Pila IBC

I don't see anything wrong with rigging up an IBC to any li-ion cell with a true capacity of ~600mAH or better. The problem is going to be whether or not the charge controls are inside the eGo battery "tube" unit, or outside. If there are separate charge controls inside, and the input voltage to...

Explanation of how a switched-off battery can be charged

Hi Rocketman, Any idea how the charge is terminated?

Explanation of how a switched-off battery can be charged

Hi rolygate, Probably the simplest way to do this is with a simple diode connected all the time that only allows current to flow IN to the "battery" at all times. Then current is allowed to flow out when a separate switch is activated. A diode, as I understand, causes a voltage drop, and with...

    AW RCR 123 (16340) 3.0V LifePO4 500mAh battery - Trial results/review

Howdy Switched, Thank You for that link, I have been wondering where this "3.2V" device concept has been coming from for quite some time with the 510 stuff.

    Juice, Viscosity Ratings, Disclosure

Yes, try cartomizers instead. Atty/cart combos are, in my early experience, in need of a lot of work by the manufactures to be acceptable. I should have mentioned, that the very reasonable results I get across all possible viscosity ranges is when using cartomizers instead of the atty/cart. I've...

    AW RCR 123 (16340) 3.0V LifePO4 500mAh battery - Trial results/review

Most secondary cell chemistries have a very sudden and rapid voltage drop-off towards the end of the discharge. All cells have a slightly different capacity and resistance, but when they are in series, they drain at the same amperage rate. The result is that whichever cell has slightly less...

AW the same as 'high drain'?

You'll notice I like to use this little symbol a lot: "~" When used with numbers, that symbol means similarity, but not exacting equality. I bring this point up first, because I answer these types of questions and run the numbers from memory of studying charts. There are many ways in which to...

What's the best JUICE out there these days???

From what I can tell, Altsmoke offers both the Chinese stuff and it's own in-house USA made stuff. Anything that isn't in the "USA-made" category is probably Dekang. Not 100% sure about that but the bottles sure look similar to the dekang website :)

    Help! Ego battery question!

I'm under the impression that the ego battery is a 650mAH ICR14500 cell (Lithium Cobalt). The maximum safe drain rate for the cell is probably between 650mA and 1300mA. A 1.5Ohm atty will draw in excess of 2 amps from the cell. If the assumption that the eGo is in fact an ICR chemistry (not...

    Juice, Viscosity Ratings, Disclosure

I understand the premise, but the comparison to motor oil is funny... Especially when you find out how BROAD those ratings actually are. Those numbers on a bottle of oil are not specifics, they define a range, and the ranges do not have gaps between them. A 30 weight butts right up against the...

What's the best JUICE out there these days???

iVape seems to make a pretty decent quality liquid... I guess.. I'm pretty new to this and found some positive reviews for it so just picked up a few bottles. They are crystal clear looking fluids (some are colored, but there is no fogginess, which I guess suggests great purity and ingredient...

AW the same as 'high drain'?

The IMR16340s have about double the energy density compared to the LiFePO4 RCR123s. On the 3.5 Ohm atty running the LiFePO4 cells, you can expect ~5-12W vaping (depending on state of charge and cell temp) with an estimated operating time of ~13 minutes. On the 4.5 Ohm atty running the...

AW the same as 'high drain'?

You might also check out redilast cells. They are becoming popular pretty quickly as they are also made from top teir cell manufactures. My only concern with them is that I suspect that the cells may be harvested from laptop packs that developed other problems. (I can't confirm this but have...
