    Make sure the clear o ring on the positive terminal is not torn or missing. Either way I find it odd for it to be leaking out of the atomizer threads. I am pretty sure the only hole that goes through to the base of the atomizer thread is the positive post so it would have to be leaking around...

    Need help with duel coil cartomizers.

    If the cartomizer has burnt the filling the harshness might not go away. When the poly-fill burns it is quite harsh and never vapes the same. If you get a burning plastic flavor the filler might be burnt at that point I would probably toss it and grab a fresh one.
