Over tightening shorts out the atty and causes the unit to heat up. I would assume that the spring and button heats up and expands and that's why it gets stuck. David has confirmed that the atty will short out if over tightened a while back on this thread.
I have had the same thing happen. The button gets stuck in the fire position and cannot move out and becomes burning hot! I think that is what he meant. That's what happened to me when I shorted out my atty on the P+, by over tightening!
Oops sorry. Yes, my husband and I have a 6 year old daughter! So, this will be our second. We planned it this way, since we both work full time and child care is outlandish in NJ. My daughter will start 1st grade so still only one child care bill. I don't know how people do it with lots of kids...
