    Switch to vaping, they said...

Starting out I went from $300 a month for smoking, limiting myself to 1/2 that for vaping purchases. Gave me time to research which mod, carto or juice I would like best. Now I DIY, wrap my own coils, gave up building my own mods but still only spend about two months worth of smokes in a year...

Been vaping same flavor for 9 yrs. Got e-juice envy for those enjoying the bevy of flavors!

Tried unflavored, wasn't for me...but as I have been doing DIY for years I've found that the percentage of flavorings has dropped. Was at 10% or more when I first did DIY, now 1% or 2% is more than enough to satisfy me. There's a hint of flavor, enough to hide the "taste" of unflavored...;)

I remember back in the day...

Hey the Vivi Nova still work well if you use a nickle or titanium coil..;) I still have fun going into a B&M shop with a Royal Smoker CE-2 in a MAP tank on top of a VV Gripper, or even a Drip-on-Demand :thumb:

Rise In E-Cig Explosions Sparks Call For Regulation.

Samsung just had to recall a cellphone, and it's in the news. Just yesterday I was in a Walmart and happened to be in the customer service area for a time. They had a bulletin board of recalls...one for three different flashlights, one for four different laptops, and one for a...

    Favorite RTA

I like the Kanger Subtank Mini for ease of build and filling. Been looking for a good price for a couple more or even try a couple of their Toptanks. They just work, good flavor, good vapor, no leaks. I also use and like the old Orchid V5, not an easy build or wicking and the fill is with a...

I remember back in the day...

Do you remember back in the day when customs was seizing shipments and destroying the contents? I wonder if we were as panicked and stocking up back then, and yes I did do some panic buying. Also learned how to make my own mods, and DIY my juice. This round seems to be more 50's bomb shelter...

    Are you done stocking up?

Check your bank's website, mine has "Shop Safe" for my CC. You create a new random CC number with a set amount able to be charged on it, and set an expatriation date. Someone hacks it and tries to use it gets automatically flagged and refused.

brick and motars are doomed no mater what happens

B&M and online vendors have a tough road to hoe. Between the FDA and many state regulations they face scrutiny on the level of a nuclear power plant. But even worse is the longer someone vapes the less they need to buy, You can pick up a few mods well under $100 that will last for years...

    VAPING 'SCHOOL'

Welcome to ECF!! :toast: What helped me the most starting up was the Ask The Veterans forum. It's setup as a single question presented, with one or two answers from an experienced vaper. Easier to glean information without pages of replies to wade through. As a noob, I read the posts...

brick and motars are doomed no mater what happens

Some B&M will survive, some will fold up. This would have happened with of without the FDA. I've stopped into a bunch of shops in my area, and only one have I ever bought anything at, they know their products and respect their customers as far as what they are looking to buy. I've been vaping...

    Are you done stocking up?

Checking ID is no big deal if they can figure an easy and more secure way for online purchase. Few years ago I was playing poker in a casino, until the wee hours, about 03:00. On my way up to my room, decided to stop for a quick beer in a brewpub they had there, nice family place that I had...

    After the new laws...

And if the FDA is successful in the lawsuits, a change in labeling / marketing may be required. In a couple months, after the election I'll know what's legal in my state. Took a ride the other day to see what's shaking in the shops in my area. Many have closed already, others are stocked up...

    After the new laws...

I disagree with some of the points made so far, as mods / power supply / variable power devices and toppers will be available for use with that "other substance that must remain unnamed". The FDA would have a problem in banning devices advertised and made for the "other stuff", as it is...

    Are you done stocking up?

If the PG percent is a big concern, figure the mL of flavoring into the base ratio. That is determine the amount of nic, VG and PG / flavoring combined as your unflavored formula. I've always thought if I was using that high % of flavoring, the flavoring was too weak to be useful...looked for...

    Are you done stocking up?

Once you know what mg/mL you like to vape at, a bigger batch of unflavored is simple to mix and store if necessary. Broken out into smaller bottles 10 mL or 30 mL is easy, then just add flavoring, shake and vape. I'm a firm believer in the KISS principal....

For how many years have you stocked up

For nic, at my current usage levels and quantities used in mixing, I probally have about 10 years worth. But I've been keeping a rotating stock of nic since customs started seizing shipments many years ago. Mods I'm not worried, I can always make my own. After the term mods came about from...

    Are you done stocking up?

Easy way I've found to no "mess up" is not to measure every time you mix a batch... I use a 250 mL bottle that I have marked exactly how much 100 mg nic, PG and VG is necessary to mix to my preferred strength. Easy to do, figure with a DIY calculator exactly how much of each component...

    Are you done stocking up?

Well, I finally broke down and stocked up a little. Now I have to decide which mods to relegate to my stash box...;) Bought a couple of VV Gripper for $10, they're only VV but once I have a tank or coil set on one I don't switch it out. I'm stocked enough so that I have a mod & topper to...

    Non-Sub Ohm Rebuildable Tank

The Kanger sub-tank mini would be my first pick for someone just starting to rebuild. Easy to get to the coils and wick if not perfect on the first try without emptying the tank, and air flow control. Can close it down enough for MTL very simply. I have a handful of Orchids also, modified...
