The hit may be dry with no vapor but won't taste burnt. When I built a ni200 coil for my dripper, I wicked it with rayon and fired it a few times before adding any eliquid, completly dry. According to the display it hit the max temp and the TC limited the power to a little over 1 (that's one)...- Stosh

I have a TC mod in the form of an evic TC, and I watch Phil's entire review. Haven't had the problems he mentioned, may be just a function of time or maybe because I'm not pushing the watts or temp. I've found little difference between the quality of a well setup VW mod and TC as far as vape...- Stosh

Joyetech Evic VT 60 Watt
I didn't have any ni200 wire or a bunch of spare coils when I got my VT. It's worked quite well with the eGo mega one with 50/50 eliquid (my normal preference). I've used it a lot with my Orchids coiled with kanthral in the 1.5Ω range, hitting them in the 9 watt range. The 30 watt pulse... -
