Yeah, I guess so. Not sure they are designed properly in china though, but who knows. I feel safe cutting the spring in half and reshaping it a bit. Plus the kick is in there as well for added protection. Just think of all the mechanical mods, if it got that hot, whose to say that just letting... -

Yeah, the size of spring plays no role in any type of "protection". Not sure what you read, but it was inaccurate, unless they are talking about a totally different spring use. -

THE BOLT UPDATE So I happened to look down the tube of the bolt where the bottom spring is, and I said to myself, holy .... that's a long spring... hmm... Took it out, cut it in half, put it back in, dropped in a 18490 + KICK.... ahhhh success... Unless I can find a smaller tube style PV that... -

Yep, the bolt is nice, I got one in yesterday, it broke after an hour or so, but I got it fixed, had to tear apart and re-solder the center pin wire. However I have found that "The Don" in 18650 mod is only like 1/4" longer than the bolt, so I am looking for one of those now, don't like the... -

Thanks tearose, I really want a 18500 device, so I can use 18350 batteries. Hmm, I think there is an xhaler that takes 18500? Do the buttons lock on those? I need something pocket-able. -
