with any tank or dripper finding the right coil is a process of trial and error. we all have different taste and preferences so you have to play with your builds to find what works best for you on the device that your using.it will take time to gain the experience and knowledge to build...
howdy and welcome to ECF been of tobacco for 14 month and its great to lose that smokers cough. and have more energy. surprising how much better food taste
if your coils are flooding you may not be using enough wick. with rayon or cotton it should be tight when you pull it true the coil and you should should stuff a little wick back into the juice holes.
wow congratulations. I tried cigalikes 4 years ago but they did not work for me. 14 month ago an ego starter kit got me of tobacco. it took real commitment to quit using cigalikes congratulation on you anniversary :rickroll::toast:
yes I prime my wicks and take primer puffs. im not getting a burnt taste. more like a wet rag or wet grass taste for a few hits before it breaks in.I do not have this problem with the silica wicks I use to rebuild my protanks (2 2mm wicks 6 turns awg 30 kenthal )
VW is variable wattage. in that mode it controls the amount of power sent to the coil. it is the safe setting for kenthal or nichrome coils. do not use TC mode with these coils
welcome
welcome to ECF hope you enjoy your stay here I have two of the protank 3s that use the same coil and really enjoy them. don't let the cloud chasers scare you off  there are a lot of low power vapers here as well.you have found a vaping home. welcome
I use 50/50 on low power tanks (10 watts or less) and it takes a few hits for my wicks to break in.it may be different with high power tanks but after 45 years of smoking my lungs can't handle anything over 20 watts and even that is unpleasant
DuPont recommends using epoxy to glue delrin plastic but first the surface must be roughed up with sandpaper. it is too smooth for the glue to adhere to and sanding with create a surface the glue can grip. almost like trying to glue teflon
they may not be fakes but are they used batteries pulled from other equipment? how long did they sit in storage before being sold? they have a date stamp on them but its in code but if you check with the manufacturer you can get a chart to help read that code. these factors and others can effect...
a regulated mod does not get more power. it is just able to boost the voltage on a higher resistance coil.if you lower the resistance you will get the same power from a mech.they do require a little more knowledge and skill than a regulated mod but once you learn how to design and build coils...
0.8 ohms may give you a 10watt vape on a regulated mod but you would need 1.3 ohms to get 10 watts on a mech mod. I use 6 turns 3.0 mm diameter awg 28 kenthal to get a 10 watt vape on my nemesis with a subtank rba and it works great for me
