Fran, that was my thought too...stuff some insulation as far as I can reach. Watched several vids last night about this kind of repair and found one where they used flashing, glued and screwed. Easier to cut for damn sure, and I can probably do that from the top side. Insulation on the top side...

I'm glad you're healing up well, Mark! And happy to know the insurance guy was a decent fella, Dee! Thank you all for the suggestions, pretty much what I was thinking but I would have forgotten about using steel wool! Jigsaw and baby skill saw (4"ish blade) I have, as well as a drill. For now...

I have a feeling I'll be trying to work in the crawl space in the near future. Pulled the access door to the plumbing for the tub and shower to see if there were water valves installed, and this big azz hole straight into the crawl space is what I found. No wonder my bathroom floor and...

Fran, I will put half of it in the freezer and use the other half for lunches, shredded for tossing into dinners, etc. Buying the big packages of boneless breasts I get it for $1.69lb. Can't eve buy lunch meat that cheap :) That winning Mega Millions ticket sold in South Carolina wasn't mine...

Good to know they were small, slow growers, Mark. Hope your procedure goes well this morning, J5. I'm slow finding my motivation this morning. Gonna stuff a 5lb package of boneless chicken breasts in the crock pot to cook, maybe that will inspire me to find something else to work on :)

I'm sad for Tib. I have 2 other friends who have lost their fur babies in the last couple of months :( Decided yesterday to pull the access siding off the water heater shed and glad I did. The insulation blanket was just kinda draped over the tank, so I took another side of the siding off where...

Dee you're gonna have to put some of those rocks in your pocket if you lose any more weight! I appreciate the suggestions to adopt another fur baby, but I think I'm gonna fly solo for awhile. My "behind me" neighbor has a sweetheart pittie named Sidney who gives me hugs and kisses, and right...

Thank you for the suggestions, both ways sound good. I suck at working with concrete tho  I went outside yesterday to do some work and all of a sudden, the absence of Chase hit me like a freight train. I just sat on the back steps and let the waves roll over me. I know it's going to...

Glad you got some good work done at the beach house, Dee. It's always a good thing when you can salvage materials instead of having to spend more money. I'm about ready to start planning how I want to do a little patio from pavers in the back yard. I want to build it a tad higher than ground...

Thank you all. The one thing I prayed for was that when his time came, God would take him quickly, and that prayer was answered

Enjoyed a nice couple of days and nights without having the ac running, but we're headed back up into the upper 80s today. Got some rock spread on the other side of the back steps yesterday, but didn't cut in the landscape timber in that spot since I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with...

Yall know it's chilly when I pull out the sweat pants! Unlike Dee, I'm loving it! Not gonna last long...back up to mid to upper 80s Monday. A 5 gallon bucket and a gazillion trips got me this much rock moved after I cleaned the yard of sticks, and mowed. Still need to cut some timber fill pieces.

There are some trees down around town, one house that I know of with a tree down onto it. I'm fine here, just a lot of twigs and stuff to rake up. Too big for the mower to pick up, or the leaf blower to herd, but nothing damaged. Couple of shingles lost on one of the neighbor's house. I got a...

I'm good so far as the storm moves over us this morning. We have flickering power but it's moving a lot faster than Flo did. It should be moved on towards Dee later this afternoon. Hoping for no more damage for you, Dee!

This one is going to add more rain on top of already flooded and still saturated areas. I decided the river rock was a little too rich for my blood, so I went back to the rock place yesterday and picked a granite that is about half the price. The truck just dumped 1.5 yards in my back yard for...
