I picked up a stainless steel EMI Avenger clone from Desire e-cigs ($60 for free shipping) - very nice telescopic mod with copper contacts top and bottom. Only thing I didn't like was the logo on the bottom since the shape is rounded and the mod would wobble even with the lock ring set. I pulled...
I took out the air flow adjustment set screw on my Tobeco KFL+ clone and my whistle went away - it opened up the draw a good bit (but not too much) for me too.
I ordered this from Desire e-cig back on January 22nd and it hit the mailbox today - 14 days from Paypal to delivery - pretty quick IMHO. The Atty is designed for top filling, which is nice. The threads are very precise through out as well. The star of the show is the knurled air flow control...
Try pulling out the spring under the bottom firing pin (remove white delrin block first) - should help a bit. You lose the ability to fit an 18350 but 18500 and 18650 will still work fine.
The parts in my Origin clone switch were loose out of the box - I removed the white delrin section so I could get in there and torque everything down - over a month in and nothing has come loose yet.
I have the tools to test now - out of the box the SS Magneto had a lot of voltage drop but after pulling out the spring under the bottom battery connection I get 0.15 volt drop with a 1.3 ohm atty using a 30 amp Sony.
I did some research and then worked out some bottlenecks. I tightened up the telescoping tube connection and removed the spring sitting under the connection making contact with the bottom of the battery. Same battery - Sony 30 amp at 4.03 volts now reads 3.88 firing a 1.3 ohm coil - the 0.15...
No short - I tested for it before, during, and after. I think some of the wick was under the coil and the juice on it was igniting - I moved this wick and solved the problem.
Ever build without wrapping any coils? I call this the non-o-coil. I took a little over an inch of 32g Kanthal (1.2 ohm per inch) and connected the ends to my atty posts. Next I shoved a wad of cotton between the post and the wire (so 1/2 a coil?) and dripped some juice. It works.
I built a 1.6 ohm coil from 30 gauge Kanthal I wrapped on an 18 gauge blunt needle - I pulled 2 strands of 1 mm silica wick through this coil and mounted it on my drilled out Nimbus clone dripper. I have a pipe stem I like to use instead of a drip tip - might not be important but that is what...
