I'm with you Uma. A stiff wick is always easier to work with imo. It tends to be much easier to over-tighten ones coil with floppy wicks, which is one of the main offenders for hotspots at the top wrap.- rwechsler

Mine stands without firing, but you need to put in the stronger spring that it comes with. The stock spring, which has a very light throw, will fire when unlocked.- rwechsler

I picked up this GGT to make a restoration project out of, so here are some pics of the progress so far. But I do need to make this explicitly clear to everyone, Jim in particular, but the drip tips I had made are virtually exact replicas of the Caravela drip tips!! That much I don't know, and I'm pretty sure Jim doesn't know yet either! He's still in the prototype phase for some of the new gear, some of it is still on paper, and some of it is just up in the air right now ;) Only time will tell!- rwechsler
