    At your point now, yeah it might be. At my point however, I could really make use of a 50 Watt mod. 6 months ago I never went past 8 watts, and thought that was super high for me. Now I am rarely under 18 watts. Lol.

    Lol. Not really. A set of calibers is nice to have, but certainly not required. I honestly don't think I know anyone who actually measures. We all just eyeball our placement. It's like everything else... Pretty subjective.

    I personally get much better consistency from contact coils. I also find them much much easier to place in whatever topper I am building for.

    Way to go! Wicking is a whole different animal itself. No where close to as hard as coils, but there is a finess to it also. I'm still learning lots of new ways for wicking myself.

    If you want 2.5, I'd go with about 10 of 30awg. Should be pretty close with 2mm mandrel. I haven't built that high for a while now. Not since my first few Kangertech coils.

    You're using steam-engine? It's usualy pretty close for me. Consistent 2 wraps higher than I use, but never as many as yours. Did you change the leg length and you did select single coil?

    Looking better. I personally think that's a whole lot of wraps, but That's just me. I would try maybe some 28 or 30 awg wire with less wraps to reach that resistance but make the length of the coil a little smaller. Reason why I say that, is simply due to the leg you have on top of the coil...

    Yep. Just use the mandrel through the coil to adjust it. When it is where you want it, remove and pulse fire and work out the hot spots by pulse firing and squeezing the coil. If the coil moved any, reinsert the mandrel and adjust it where you want it.

    Have you tried to to just lay it there and get the coil snug then worry about adjusting it after its snug? I rarely get my coils placed where I want them first time. I just get it close, then I nudge it where I want. Then I fully tighten. I just snug it enough to not slip out of the posts.

    I see. That might be tricky for a beginner being so short. I would say you probably would have an easier time with drill bits or screw drivers. I should look into getting one of those myself though. Can't bring myself to spend that much on it though since I could make one on my own.
