VaperShark published test results on All Ejuice They Sell

Oh my. I got through the whole dry burning scare relatively unscathed, thanks to some quality posts here on ECF. The level of risk as I understood the issue was within my tolerence, so I'll keep dry burning. This DA, AP, issue has me completely confused :( I just can't seem to quantify the...

    First Temp Control Build

IIRC the SX Mini M Class came out with just nickel TC, but had downloadable firmware and which now includes Ti. Seems Evolv were a bit late to catch on. I'll try Ti when I have a mod with the algorithms to support it.

    First Temp Control Build

@jks89 Titanium does sound a little more practical to work with. I wonder why the TC mod manufacturers seemed to choose nickel as there preference? Perhaps you can be more accurate with nickel. I don't know. I'm using a DNA40 which doesn't support Ti. It's a real shame it doesn't support...

    First Temp Control Build

@Treeburner1983 I really appreciate the advice - thank you! I'll order some 32g Nickel and give it a try.

    First Temp Control Build

Thanks @jks89 At this point I'm only playing with TC in an RDA to see if I can vape the cotton dry every time before redripping. Really just doing this for fun, but if I could build a dual coil TC that would never dry hit in a RDA, I would be tempted to use this instead of kanthal. The...

    First Temp Control Build

Oops, just noticed you're using 32g nickel. Therefore only 10/11 wraps to reach 0.3ohms, so dual coil would hit my target 0.15ohms! This is great! Two quick questions for @Treeburner1983 Or anyone else who knows: 1.) Is the kanthal only scaffolding and not carrying current? 2.) How do you...

    First Temp Control Build

Thanks @Treeburner1983 I didn't know you could mix coil material like that and still get TC. Have to say I'm confused by the science. If you twist kanthal around nickel won't the current just choose the path of least resistance and go down the nickel wire? So I'd still need 20+ wraps to make...

    First Temp Control Build

That's interesting, I'd heard the singe point (technical term :)) for cotton was 420F so was trying not to go to high above this. Looks like a tidy build Culin, well done. I'm only seeing 9 wraps there though so may come out a little lower than expected. Looking at the photo's of mine I see I...

    First Temp Control Build

Built my first TC coil today. VF DNA40 - Derringer RDA 28g, 10wraps, 3mm ID, Nickel, 0.14 ohms Read 0.16 Ohms on the VF DNA40 Started off at 400F at 20w Vaped fine but a little thin, so pushed it up to 420F at 30w. Here it vaped well. The temperature protection kicks in pretty quick...

    DNA40 TC and Battery Safety

Thank you all, that clears that up. So on the setup mentioned above is there a lower limit on the safe ohms level of a nickel build, or can you build as low as you like? I'd assume the DNA40 has a cut off ohms level that it won't fire below, but I don't know what that is.

    DNA40 TC and Battery Safety

Thinking about doing my first TC Nickel build. Quick safety question. If I do 28g, 12wraps, 2.5mm ID, Nickel, it will likely come out around 0.16ohms. Is this not a concern in terms of battery safety? Using VF DNA40 - Derringer RDA Batteries: 2x LG HE4 18650 I believe these batteries are...

    Coil under electron microscope

Thank You @Alien_Traveler That's quite reassuring, no visible pitting or corrosion of the coil, just some microscopic juice debry. Nice pics.

RDA First RDA, First Dual Coil Build

Took you advise, went for a 28g, 2.5mm ID, 7wraps, Dual Coil. Actually came out 0.69 ohms, again - close enough :) Lifted the coils so the tops are a fraction higher than the centre post. Tried to push the coils as far out to the sides as possible. Fantastic! Absolutely no spitting at 30w...

    Throat burn!

Sounds like you may be getting dry hits, or simply vaping at too high wattage. Really need more info to help you out on this. What is your set up? What do you have the watts set to? What juice are you using?

RDA First RDA, First Dual Coil Build

Yes, my current build is 28g, 7wraps, 3mm, 1.46 ohms. Great flavour!

RDA First RDA, First Dual Coil Build

Thanks @thmstwwng I moved to the 3mm ID while learning to build on my KFv4. It is fairly fussy about the wicking, and I got the best results on it with 3mm. The Derringer by design is not at all fussy about the wicking, so I'll take your advise and try 2.5mm ID, and play with the coil to...

What a nightmare! Sorry to hear about your Flask. Get in touch with VF I'm sure they have a repair service, not sure what they charge though. Hope you get it fixed.

That's interesting, apart for your build being much cleaner than mine, they are very similar. What dip tip are you using? Any chance of a picture?

RDA First RDA, First Dual Coil Build

Yes, that was my experience as well. The spit back started at 25w, at 20w I didn't get any either. But I did prefer the vape at 25w, so I'll probably just put up with a bit of spitting. That's a very tidy build! I'll work on mine. Your picture quality it excellent too, what are you using...

RDA First RDA, First Dual Coil Build

Thanks Poohed. I switched to a longer Pyrex dip tip, it's an improvement. Guess I can live with a little spitting. Used the Derringer all day today, watts have climbed up to 30. Still a great smooth and cool vape. :)
