    I see similar things- usually for a second or two a freshly charged battery will show 4.2 and then drop down to 4.0- remember, the provari puts a bit of load on the battery.......much more than your dmm will....

    Gold. Nah- get the standard media blasted/satin finish stainless for your first one- it's a bit better to hold as the chrome finish can be slippery at times. Plus it doesn't show finger prints. Get a shiny one for a back up or when you want to accesroize.

    Just an update- I ended up going to 1500 grade sand paper- I would guess you could probably go as low as 400 or 600.... I glued a small piece on the end of a pencil eraser to get into the spring indent.... and also sanded both ends of the spring- then cleaned it all out with a paper towel wet...

    I've been using both the TR-001 that originally came with the ProVari kit and the Pila charger- yes the TR-001 is tight but it does fit- be careful when you insert it.
