    430 SS Builds

Is there a specific reason behind choosing alloy 430 Stainless Steel? Performance between different alloys of Stainless Steel hasn't been experimented with much from what I've found and especially with alloys in the 400's. Realistically the composition of many alloys is very close, so it's...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

There really is no "best" in performance comparing 316, 317 or 304, the main difference is that 316 and 317 contain Molybdenum for improved weld ability because after all 316 and 317 started off as welding wire in most cases. Pick one you like that you trust the supplier of, 304 can be harder...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

If I were limited to just those two choices, I would go with 316. Honestly you will notice almost no difference between them, the chemical composition is very very close. I am not aware of an alloy of Stainless Steel which does not contain Chromium, many alloys of SS average about 18% Chromium...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

While vaping may not be even a decade old yet the metal forming/forging industry has been around for more than a century, so we DO know the properties of alloys of metal and the associated risks of using them in virtually any sort of atmosphere or extreme conditions, because over time we have...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

Since you failed to provide a direct link to the information it doesn't really help anyone who would be looking for hard facts on the topic as there is no context or meaning to what is being said, we have no idea what that "quote" you've used is in reference to. Thankfully the internet is easy...

RDA How long does it take to master an RDA?

Took me a solid month of building new coils every other day to find exactly what I liked with an RDA, it's definitely not an immediate thing. One piece of advice that helped me along was to not try to continually improve on something you already like, once you find the build you enjoy and...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

Dry burning is an essential part of a properly performing coil in my eyes, take a look at Kanthal for a second as a reference. When you dry burn a Kanthal coil, the reason it initially tries to short back and forth between the wraps is that the oxide layer isn't there to prevent the wraps from...

Recommended Tool(s) for Cutting Twisted Titanium Wire?

This is what I use and recommend, the price is worth something that won't die in 50-100 cuts, I cut full hard 22G 304 SS with these and have been for months. http://www.aikencolon.com/knipex-77-32-120-h-esd-electronics-diagonal-wire-cutter-pliers You're not going to find something better with...

Interesting graphs for sure. As always, excellent!

    304 / 316 SS and TC

I'm partial to 304, mostly because it's the least complex in chemical composition and it's generally considered the "food grade" or "surgical grade" steel. There's little to no performance difference between them from what I've seen, though to be fair I've only worked with 304, 316 and 316L...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

Kanthal contains more Chromium by volume than SS, which is why I've been so confused. You said you dry burn Kanthal so I'm just tying to get where you're going here... You'll dry burn a wire that has ~20% Chromium by volume but won't do it with SS which has ~10% by volume?

    304 / 316 SS and TC

You're never going to get truly even oxidation firing coils on a mod, even the best performing coils heat up from the most central wrap outwards, so even if you were able to achieve perfect oxidation temperature in the middle wrap the wraps next to that will be cooler, and the ones next to that...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

I have been using SS contact coils for over six months, dry burned them hundreds of times, I've seen all of the colors you're talking about and they don't bother me in any way...that's what steel does when you heat it to specific temp! Nichrome 80 turns crazy violet pink and blue if it's...

    304 / 316 SS and TC

Hexavalent Chromium is only released at a very high temperature(Ex: Welding, 3100°C, Oxy/Acy cutting torch 3500°C) you would actually have to be inhaling across RED glowing hot coils that were about to pop to even stand a chance of acquiring it from a SS coil, if it's even possible at all due to...

Where can i buy DIY juices online?

IMO, stop thinking about it and start doing it so you don't have the level of regret that I do! I was on a solid $45 per week rotation for juice on average, so that's $2,340 per year on just juice if I were to keep up with that. Now that I DIY, I haven't set foot in a vape shop to purchase...

    18350? Mooch help!

The highest drain 18350 available that I'm aware of is the Tensai 700mah, which is capable of 14A(Rated 20C). They are getting harder to find, I'm 99% sure this is the battery that Efest uses under the wrapper of their 10.5A 18350, as the cells look identical with the wrappers off and...

    RTA with MASSIVE airflow, please?

That's strange that the Zephyrus lacks airflow in practice, whoever designed it must not have bothered with fluid dynamics or whatever, there has to be a restriction and a big one somewhere because the deck has 4x 3mm air holes in it, which by all rights should be nearly equivalent to the...

Bothered. I want another mod but...

iJoy Asolo 200W, it can't actually do 200W due to the limitations of the dual 18650 batteries however it is a very compact dual 18650 mod that otherwise would seem to tick most if not all of your wants off the list. This is just the protections the device has in place, Didn't see it suggested...

What is your 18650 battery of choice and Why?

Samsung 25R, I own over two dozen of them now and they are the ONLY battery I use. Why? Because they consistently perform the same batch after batch and provide the highest voltage to my coils(measured at the posts under load) at the resistance I vape at of any of the major batteries I've used.

RDA Center post spinning,How to fix it?

If the post is a softer metal I've had luck squeezing the base of the post with very sharp tooth pliers a few times(I use small vice grips), this will give a sort of ridged/toothed finish where you squeezed the post and help add traction to the connection between post and insulator.
