Why 801 and 901 for mods?

The vapor from the 901 just feels better to me. When I use the 801, the vapor seems to condense in my throat and on the back of my tongue and cause this strange tickle that makes me cough. It is not the nicotine tingle/burn feeling. It is more like a postnasal drip feeling, where you can resist...

Why 801 and 901 for mods?

I use 510 and 901 because they are my favorite atomizers so far. I have an 801 that I am not fond of and an RN4062 cigar that I really don't like. My personal favorite is the 510, but I haven't found a no-battery-sacrifice alternative connector for it yet, so I don't use it for prototyping any...

The wiring is the same. The circuit works the same whether you put your switch in the positive side of the circuit or the negative side. Think of your switch like a valve in a water pipe. It blocks the flow until you change that. It doesn't matter whether you block the flow from the left side or...

    YFI FDA offical reply

Not different so much as already regulated by the ATF and out of FDA's jurisdiction.

    YFI FDA offical reply

Here is my take on the whole thing. Drug-device combination means nicotine combined with a device. We need to keep the device separate from the liquid. A starter kit should come with blank carts, no nic carts, or no carts at all. Right now our retail packaging contains nicotine cartridges...

    510/Yeti Preorder Available!

Yippee! The yeti is back! Rob, I am sooooooo happy to see the yeti back. I am STILL in love with it. I made a mod with it and it frickin' rocks. Now I can get parts and I can try the manual batteries and I can buy stuff from Rob. He really is a wonderful guy who goes to great lengths to get...

    thank you ECF modders

Looks great. I also like the way the led looks through the epoxy.

This is the best part about modding your own. You can build it to suit your style, your priorities, and your goals. It doesn't take all that much learning compared to the amount of control that we gain by having the knowledge and skills.

That battery should vape like a locomotive. I think you are saying that you are getting 3.6 volts with multimeter leads on the center post and the threads. If that is the case, you should have power. Check that the atty is good (I have driven myself crazy testing with a bad atomizer). Check that...

Anyone get a buzz from an e-cig

I'm sorry, Shmiggy. I should have been clearer. The call for caution wasn't directed at you. I meant it for all the people who look at this beautiful majestic creature and fall instantly in love as I did. I wanted one from the first time I met one. I have an innate sense that there isn't an...

Crazy, but ohhhh so true. I work in one of those bureaucracies where nothing makes sense. Nothing makes sense because there is no honesty about anything, just PR propaganda (hype). I am so glad I started making my own and not buying every new toy that comes out. Thanks guys for teaching me and...

I never thought of a protected battery with the original NicoStick. I just listened when someone suggested using the protected battery. I could only change it so easily because I had so little invested - it helps that the person who suggested it also sent me the box and a sample of the battery...

They have invested an astronomical amount of money in bringing this to market. Plastci molds do not come cheap and do not change easily. In order for them to use a protected battery at this point would require a whole new mold because the protected cells are too big to fit in that body. To add a...

Anyone get a buzz from an e-cig

"nico" comes from nicotine, my drug of choice these days. "wolf" comes from a very intense animal with whom I feel I share a spirit. We are permitted to have hybrids here, even within city limits, but the restrictions are more wild than the wolf. One must register the animal, prove yearly...

Aluminum is not magnetic whereas other metals we use are. You can try to see if a magnet is attracted to it. Also, you can make that connection physically if need be. Wrap your wire around the bottom of the center post several times, then insulate it, then assemble your connector.

An easy test is to use a magnet. If the magnet is attracted to it, it is not aluminum.

Aluminum, not really a metal but looks like one and conducts like one. Is your problem trying to solder to the outer ring on the DC Jack? I ran into that problem, that's why I soldered to the threads. When applying globs of solder to make the bridge that Apostle51 did, I had no trouble at all...

We tend to be just a hair ahead of the manufacturers. We can implement our ideas fairly quickly. They have to research, do a cost/benefit analysis, run through some prototypes, do beta testing, create some hype, stir up some controversy, make molds for the new proprietary parts, then actually...
