    Minimum tools to get started?

I did see them a week or two ago in another review, but at 20$ each they were in that "out of my budget" range - but when they popped up on fasttech for 7$, that's right in my wheelhouse this month. This is my first order from fasttech though. I think I chose the wrong shipping method (USPS)...

    Minimum tools to get started?

I ordered these (as they are usually 20$ for one, Fasttech just put them out for 6.82$ for all three) as well. When they show up in a month they might make coiling a little easier :) Pretty cool, check out the Rip Tripper review of them. $6.82 Kuro Koiler Wire Coiling Tool (3-Piece Set) -...

The Fasttech Igo-L is a clone, not authentic. I'm sure it works fine though, and I'm fine with clones - I just wanted to remark that the one I actually got is supposed to be authentic, where earlier I had mentioned that I wasn't going to buy authentic anything. You would be surprised how cheap...

    RDA Buyer paralysis

Just an update, I did end up buying an IGO-L (listed as authentic but who knows, and I didn't buy from fasttech because I wanted it sooner rather than later). If all goes well, I'll invest in one of the others. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I'll give that a shot if I end up needing to. I do have 3' of 28g kanthal coming with another order, so I can try that as well. I keep seeing people using torches, do I absolutely need a butane torch? Or is firing the coil enough to clean it up before wicking?

I have Lightning Vapes bookmarked, great stuff, will have to shop there once I've settled into rebuildables!

    Minimum tools to get started?

Well then the 20' should be good, because I'm bound to waste some in experimenting for the first time :) I DO want to move to RTA's instead of my Nautilus style clearos, but I went with the IGO-L just to see if I could manage to build a coil or not, kind of the "gateway" to getting away from...

Raguvian, thanks! I grabbed the screwdrivers. I also ordered 20' of 100% Rayon Cellucotton (and a jeweler's magnifying visor to compensate my poor eyesight). I've already got some tweezers and nail clippers and the IGO-L is in the mail. I ordered this Kanthal, hopefully it's the right stuff...

As to shorting the coil while firing/squeezing, I assume that won't happen as long as I stop firing before I squeeze the coil. Is this going to be an issue on a regulated device or all OK?

    Minimum tools to get started?

I have an IGO-L on the way and I've been searching to find the tools I need to get started with it. There seem to be a lot of suggestions for things that I'm not sure I need, and I'm on a budget this month (still recovering from the holiday!) So far I know I need these: Something to wrap on...

Hard to argue with that kind of sensibility. And the price is right. I hate the way it looks and it isn't 22mm (issues!) but I think you may have picked the right one to start with.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into Mutations and the Tobh. I won't be buying an authentic - I've never dripped or wrapped a coil, and I don't know if it is "for me" yet, if you know what I mean. I'm looking to try inexpensive routes to start with, and if I like it, I'll step up later on.

Never built a coil, or used a mech. I've read about them extensively and watched some building tutorials and examined battery safety. I know what mech I'm going to get (SXK Stingray X) but I cannot seem to decide on an RDA to top it with. I need something that will be easy for a beginner to...
