    My basic (non LR or HV) 510 atties work fine all the way up to at least 5.5v - I haven't tried them higher because Id be afriad of blowing them. But your original question was do they work and yes they do. :)

    I store mine upright like toothbrushes as juice can seep out (even remains of juice) when not in use and make a sticky mess. I drip btw so Im not talking about filled carts.

    You can try removing the battery and putting it back in - that works sometimes - but usally you just have to get a new one of those batteries. They are pretty cheap; I used to have a few on hand as they die without warning, soemtimes really quickly.

    Autos have a much greater risk of flooding into the battery as its not sealed like a manual one; I'd get a manual battery for dripping if I were you. If you get juice in your auto it will kill it.
